Why I Don’t Really Support Net-Neutrality
Here’s the most boiled-down reason.
If cable companies control the data on their ‘pipes’, they lose Common Carrier status. If they lose Common carrier status, they are responsible for what gets posted on the internet. If they are responsible for what gets posted on the internet, they are legally responsible for ALL content(think bestiality and pedophilia) online. If they are legally responsible for all posted material online, they will get sued and sanctioned into the ground. If they get sued and sanctioned into the ground, they will go out of business. If they go out of business, all the ‘pipes’ are sold for dirt-cheap. If all the ‘pipes’ are sold for dirt-cheap, TONS of new companies will arise.
If TONS of new companies arise, content is cheap/free.
If content is cheap/free, net-neutrality will once again live on.
See?
In the words of Tweedledum and Tweedledee, thats logic.
